Oaths, Retribution, and Enemies

As citizens of the Good News Kingdom, Jesus calls us to live a cruciform life. It is only by the presence of His Spirit that we can love those who have harmed us, just as Jesus did.  

Intimacy with God

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus describes what life looks like when we follow Him. Those who live in the Good News Kingdom are transformed by the Holy Spirit to be merciful, peacemakers, and pure in heart.

When Jesus gave his greatest teaching, He shared what it looks like for us to flourish together in the Good News kingdom, here and now, by His Spirit. In this upside down kingdom, it's the humble and lowly who get to experience the glory and goodness of God's presence.
